On the 1850 census, Christopher NICHOLS was living in Miami Co, along with his wife Elizabeth (PENCE) Nichols and a 13 year old Benjamin Nichols. I assume this is his younger brother. Christopher moved on to Indiana before the 1860 census, but Benjamin was not with him. Neither was Elizabeth, since she died in 1855. Is anybody familiar with this name? Is there a cemetery book someone might check to see if either Benjamin or Elizabeth is buried in Miami Co.?

I am doing a genealogy study on the STINSMAN family that lived in Lost Creek Township. Isaac Stinsman and Catharine ADDIS were married there on 10/27/1850. I am looking for information on Edgar Jennings Oliver that was married to Goldie M. Fadely. Goldie died at the Dayton State hospital in 1943 at Dayton, Ohio. My mother was sixteen when she died ,so I never got to know her ,or my grandmother's brothers or sisters. I know everybody has secerts that we do not want others to know. I'm trying to find the parents of Levi Mann, b. ca 1798, probably in PA. He married Jane Bell, daughter of Benjamin Bell, the Rev. War Patriot., b. 22 May 1797. They were married 24 May 1818. From a letter from his daughter Sarah Jane Mann Bell to my cousin, she states that one of Levi's granddaughters was named Marietta (they called her Mary) after his home from which he had moved "100 years ago this year" and the letter was dated 1926. Levi moved to Paris, Edgar Co. IL where he died. Jane had predeceased him and after her death, he married Catharine E. FOX VANHOUTEN 30 Aug 1850. Levi and Jane were the parents of J. Howard, Samuel J., Hannah, Elizabeth, Levi C., Mary, Celia, Isabelle, "female", and Sarah Jane. Would appreciate any information I can get regarding Levi and especially where he was born, when he was born, and his parents and siblings. Can anyone help? Will gladly share what I have.

The 1870 federal census for Staunton Township, page 583, line 9, lists the John SILER household. John was born in (West) Virginia, moving to the Urbana, Ohio region with his family in 1840. His brother was David SILER, who also lived in the Miami County area. His wife, the former Lucinda CONAWAY, was born somewhere in Ohio in 1848. Also included in the household was a Susan HOLLINGSWORTH, who was the right age and had the correct place of birth to be John's older sister. I believe this John SILER to be my g,g grandfather. Researching the surname FREY and HASEBROCK / HAZEBROOK / HASENBROCK of Miami county, Ohio. Michael FREY and Gesina Johannah Hasebrock arrived in America in 1866 acording to 1900 census...there were other Hasebrook families in the Miami county area and it seems reasonable to presume these were relatives of Gesina's. While in Miami county, they had several children, and lived in the area called Tippicanoe City or what is now called Tipp City. Gesina and Mike Frey finally moved to Kansas before 1900. Am also interested in the family of Gottlieb Frey, a brother of Mike's. The Gottlieb Frey family lived on Orchard St. in Toledo, Ohio and ran a one-story meat market which today is a two-story apartment. They lived next door. Gottlieb killed himself before 1900, and is buried at Forest Cem. in Toledo. I believe Mike and Gottlieb had another brother named Albert but uncertain about his fate. He may have commited suicide sometime before Gottlieb's death. Mike died 1902 in Kansas. Would like to correspond with anyone interested in these same families.

My interest is in the BIGGER and WILSON families. It is very dificult to lock into the right Wilson family. My interest is in John Bigger, Jr. who married Mary Wilson 1835 in Miami Co., OH. She had a brother, Hiram Wilson, who followed them to Logan Co., Illinois prior to 1850. This is the only hook I have for the Wilson family.

Martha H. Brown married Sennaca Hubbell 06/22/1865 in Fletcher twp of Miami county. Her parents were Augustus G. Brown and Catherine Wilson Married in 1836 also in Miami Co. Sennaca Hubbells parents were Foster Hubbell and Catherine Due living in Fletcher twp in the 1850 census. Foster Hubbells parents were Hezikiah Hubbell and Eunice Sanders. Seeking information on John MUNK (b. ca. 1819 in Germany, d. 15 June 1863 at battle of Winchester, VA), his ancestors and descendents. Seek same for his wife: he married Elizabeth SHORTS (b. ca. 1812 in PA, d. 1896 in Shelby Co., OH) on 1 July 1852 in Miami Co., OH. Elizabeth's maiden name was WERTZ. I believe that she 1st married John SHORTS in Montgomery Co., OH, 1839. John and Elizabeth lived in Miami Co. and had one child: Jacob (b. 1854). Elizabeth moved to Shelby Co., OH with Jacob shortly after the death of John.

11 Dec 1997. Will exchange info on the BRIGHT family of Lost Creek Twp., Miami Co., who also lived in Champaign and Clark counties. John, Henry and David, all sons of John Bright Sr., first appear in Lost Creek in 1830. A third brother, Stephen (17! 94-1859), had children who lived there, including Adam BRIGHT, who died in Casstown in 1911.
